2019 Passion Made Artist Statement - Corrine Donnelly
These days my inner artist really comes out to play when I am experiencing the freedom of the poured acrylic painting process. This exhibit has poured pieces, plus watercolour batik and acrylic works. My subject matter varies, as does my inspiration. I am often inspired by a limited number of colours that work well together. I am inspired by people who are able to achieve this too:) I think I paint and write because I have a lot to say, and I especially enjoy when my painting inspires me to write. Then I get to say even more:)
I am excited to be part of “Passion Made” - our new branding move - the title says it all! The exhibit I was most proud of was a Gibson Centre juried show. My most unusual exhibit was a York Region authors' event where my poems were the focus and their companion paintings merely had a supportive role. Other exhibits include Tottenham's Gallery 21, The United Church's Bradford Art Centre, BWG trade shows, the Cookstown Public Library and a solo art installation activity and that ended with a Fairy Exhibit at our BWG Library. Through the years, art courses at Georgian College, Canadore College, The Toronto School of Art, and various local workshops have helped me learn. I thoroughly enjoy Thursday afternoons that find me painting with a small group at our Leisure Centre's Creative Art Space. Come join us.
