Chad Williams is a self taught Canadian painter and illustrator. A lot of his inspiration is drawn from his childhood. Having grown up on a farm, exploring the fields and woods, not having cable or video games, and being miles away from other kids his own age, all played a major role in cultivating his imagination. He discovered very early the wonders and oddities in nature if you take the time to look closely enough. He developed a passion for fantasy and science fiction literature, old movies and television, comic books, and cartoons, which has accompanied him his entire life. Chad uses a lot of vibrant, eye-catching colours, and enjoys creating work that's bizarre and surreal. Always bearing in mind the Latin dictum "Ars gratia artis", art for the sake of art.
